The best thing to do is to contact the Blue Ridge Parkway and ask them to send you some literature of the parkway. There is a lot to see and do. Some of the best hiking is out there but with 2 days, you are best suited for just pulling over and doing some overlooks. You will find that if you drive toooooo slow, people will get behind you (mostly motorcycles) and will 'push' you to speed up. I suggest when that happens, to pull over to an overlook and let them all pass and then get back on the road. That happens a lot with me and my Stang. They see me in the rear view and then they pull over (most of them). Downshift on the hills when going down as much as you can, it can be murder on the brakes!
If the Parkway cannot send you the literature, contact the Asheville Chamber of Commerce. For a small fee, they will mail you a packet of neat stuff. Or, contact you AAA and see if they can get you the Parkway literature. I moved here from FL 4 years ago and have not even been to half the places on the Parkway. Watch out for sudden thunderstorms....gets pretty hairy up there. AND try not to drive it at night.....no lights and lots of critters on the road...
