I was jumping ahead and scoping out the 10 day forecast and it looks like rain in Asheville from now until forever.
Whats it been looking like up that way ? thoughts?

local TV stations are calling for rain off and on through next week :(
Joe and myself talked about this yesterday. He had a couple of phone calls on this also.
Looking at the 10 day forecast today, it shows 60% rain on Friday :( and on Sat. shows only a 20% chance with partial clouds. :D But you know how those forcasts are, these weather fronts can slow down or speed up so its just a guess right now. dontknow
But as of right now we do not have a rain date for the 2 day show, and the pony run itself could not have a rain date because of the logistics of getting everthing coordinated again with the parkway people, police and sherrifs. Especially trying to get it some time in October...the height of the leaf season. Don't know if they would even let us. dontknow So cross your fingers in hopes of no rain out. salute
But by the 10 day we should be alright, just check on the site here for updates. salute

It will really suck for me if it is rain dated to another weekend.
I work most all weekends and had to put in for vacation several weeks in advance.
Then reserved my hotel room... which I can probably cancel that without any charges, depending on the time frame.
Spent countless hours having the car detailed and prepped for this too.

Im just crossing my fingers and Praying the good Lord will bless us with two days of good/ fair weather.

Being a weather person is the only job in the world that pays you $150,000.00 dollars a year to be wrong 80% of the time. Go figure. dontknow

One thing you have to look forward to living here in the mountains is that if you don't like the weather, wait 30 minutes, it will change !

good morning, I know you're busy, busy, busy. my parents, wife, and i will be attending the run this weekend. we're coming from central florida, and have basic knowledge of the asheville area. on your website i have been unable to find where exactly the sunday run starts. does it begin the same place as the car show on sat? and i notice that you have a 30-40% chance of rain. down here that means nothing. we'll be staying in maggie valley, and i'll be using my wifes iphone for any updates, if you do postpone it when will you make that decision, and will it be posted immediately on the site, or emailed to everyone?
thanks for your time, and we all are so looking forward to this.
oh, and your site email is full.

Excellent questions man.

That is a drive and a half from way down in FL. I can only tell you that the Pony run on Sunday the 27th will take place starting in the same parking lot as the show at the Biltmore square mall.

20%-40% chance is not much I agree. Im here in Charlotte NC and its been overcast for 3 days now and only a trace of rain ( in some areas) others are bone dry.

Someone here will chime in and answer your questions though.

As i said in this thread earlier, it would have to be a hurricane or worse to have this show cancelled. dontknow It would be very hard to reschedule the car show on Sat. because of the vendors, concert people and Steve Saleen coming, they have a schedule also. :)
And the Pony Run on Sun. would even be harder because it would start falling in to their Leaf season for one and getting the police and parkway to reschedule their help would be another.....so for us to cancel it will have to be "real bad" weather. dontknow
Check here and you will know if we have to cancel. :x We will post it on the front page in "BIG' letters. :x You would know as quick as we would. :)

As for the Pony Run it will start at the same place the Car show will be at. (Biltmore Square Mall) headbang

I will get in touch with Dennis to check on the sites email, thanks for the heads up. thumb

Hope to see you Saturday headbang
